Starting December 1, 2024, the Texas State Bar will introduce a Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals (LLP) program designed to provide affordable legal assistance in family law, estate planning, probate, and consumer debt cases. LLPs are specially trained professionals who can assist low-income individuals with uncontested legal matters at a fraction of the cost of traditional attorneys, helping to close the justice gap for underserved communities.
Colorado’s LLP program serves as a blueprint for this initiative, demonstrating measurable success. Since its launch, Colorado LLPs have assisted over 1,000 clients, reduced legal costs by an average of 40%, and expanded access to justice by 25% in underserved areas. Client satisfaction remains high, with scores consistently exceeding 90%. While Modern Family Law does not currently offer LLP services in Texas, we celebrate the introduction of this program as a significant step toward improving access to justice nationwide. We remain committed to providing compassionate and innovative legal solutions in the areas we serve.
