Patrick Alegre’s path to family law is deeply personal, shaped by his upbringing in a blended family that reinforced the importance of strong familial bonds. His ability to connect with clients comes from a lifetime of diverse experiences—from traveling across the globe to working hands-on in various industries.
Patrick’s work ethic was instilled early when he helped his father on construction sites at just five years old. In high school, he balanced football, music, and weekend jobs to save for a truck and drum set. He later pursued a degree in music at CSU Chico while working overnight shifts as a preventative maintenance manager. It was during a music law class that an intellectual property attorney inspired him to pursue law as a career.
While law school presented challenges, Patrick found his passion in community property and patent litigation. He began his career as a family law paralegal in 2023, quickly excelling by managing over 50 clients within his first three months. After passing the bar in February 2024, he became an associate attorney committed to guiding clients through complex legal matters with strategy and compassion.
Since becoming an attorney, Patrick has handled domestic violence trials, asset division, settlement negotiations, and both amicable and high-conflict divorces. His deep understanding of the financial impact of divorce, combined with his respect for his clients, makes him a valuable advocate at Modern Family Law.

Patrick earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music from California State University, Chico, where he balanced his studies with a demanding job as a preventative maintenance manager for a chain of restaurants, working overnight shifts to ensure smooth operations. It was during a music law class that he met an intellectual property attorney who sparked his interest in the legal field, ultimately inspiring him to pursue law as a career.
He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University, School of Law, where he initially struggled to find his niche. However, after taking courses in community property and patent litigation, he fully embraced his passion for the law. His dedication quickly translated into real-world experience when he was hired as a Family Law paralegal in June 2023, managing over 50 clients within his first three months. After passing the bar examination in February 2024, he transitioned into his current role as an associate attorney, where he continues to advocate for clients navigating family law matters.
